Lyft - free or discounted rides to the polls throughout 2020 election season

+19 Deal Score
4,451 Views
Similar to what they did during the 2018 midterms, Lyft has partnered with multiple groups to provide free or discounted rides to people who may not have other means of getting to the polls.

I know this will be ignored, but please try your best to behave like adults and keep this on-topic to the deal and not turn it into a thread about political conspiracy theories. There is no argument to be made that expanding access to one's legs right to vote is a bad thing.

Will this app work better than the one used to count votes?

Nah, that app will count dead votes. No lift driver wants a stinky corpse in the back

I can't think of anything more American for a company to do.

I'm sure they know which way those people who need to be picked up will vote. This has more underlying bias than the good deed it appears to be on the surface. Also probably a huge tax write-off for the company.
Wow...what type of person criticizes helping our democratic republic to be more fair, to help remove the bias of our growing income disparity. Just wow.

They're headquartered in San Francisco and 96% of Lyft campaign contributions go to the Democratic Party, it's no secret who they're trying to help with this promotion.

We understood earlier you are opposed to more citizens voting because of bigotry, but how is that a good thing for our country and patriotism ?

From website:

"At this stage in the election year, we are not offering a public ride code; instead, we're working through nonprofit partners to distribute codes within communities most in need of access. We will share more information about our plans for how the broader public can participate in these efforts in the coming months. "
