Pretty good price for the 2DSXL and Nintendo's refurbs are almost "like new" from my previous experiences.
Just for people's info:
- Supports all 3DS games
- Backward compatible with DS games
- Smaller battery (shorter battery life) than NEW 3DS
- Same processor has NEW 3DS so you can play SNES Virtual Console games
- Lacks 3D feature, however makes the top screen much lighter
- Takes some work, but can run CFW and homebrew
The retail package did come with a power adapter, but this listing is unclear whether or not it comes with one.
This is the general price, they do it every few weeks. Been watching this for a while, waiting for it to drop below $100 - not in any rush, but bound to happen soon
Okay SD fam: why should I buy one of these? Already have a switch. Any easy Homebrew mods?
The latest CFW method seems a bit involved. The ntrboot method works on any firmware if you have the right compatible flashcard. Regardless, there isn't a "simple" way and will take some steps.

Eh... I did CFW on my 2DS XL a few months ago. It took my slow butt 90 minutes following the steps from beginning to end, and I was taking my time. Just follow the instructions, step-by-step, and you'll be fine. I'm pretty sure that a 3DS-family console with CFW is by far the best value in video games today.
Now I have a portable console that can also play SNES & Genesis games. How neat is that?

I have experience installing/jailbreaking devices for years but the 2ds (3ds family) was super easy to install CFW. Also I did buy a refurb 2dsxl from Nintendo a few months back, and it was in perfect condition.
I bought my 2DS XL 6 months ago, did CFW, and am still extremely happy with it. If you like the DS/3DS library and can follow the CFW instructions, I think this is a good deal.
And as the poster wrote a few messages above, CFW is much easier than it used to be. No hardware modifications are necessary now. If hardware modifications were necessary, there's no way I would've tried it myself.

So you are saying it's not bad to do on this deal
