Have had just about every premium RD and the R7 imo the best of all of them. Range is second to none and set up correctly it is quite good at filtering out K band falses. No regrets on buying it even though I paid a little over 500 for it half a year back. Well worth it for those who use a RD and take time to get it set up right.

From reading about the R9 it's going to require a custom instruction in the grill, as opposed to just windshield mount. Probably slightly better performance than the R7, but not as easy to move between vehicles and higher cost for the unit plus custom install.
