I've always resisted trying them because they seemed like a rip off to me. But with the $4 discount I gave them a try and it confirmed my initial suspicion. Rather tasteless chunks of the old rotisserie chickens they couldn't sell and even more tasteless tortillas. A better idea is to drive down the street to your local taco truck and get REAL street tacos for the same price or less.
I did not think paying $6 per pound for slaw, sauce, corn tortillas, and limes was a good value. You get one pound of rotisserie chicken which is good but value lost with other cheaper items priced the same as the meat. It barely fills 12 small/mini corn tortillas for $16. The value just does not seem to be there for this dish.
My family loves these...not sure why people think they're a bad value. $1.25 (or $1 with coupon) per taco is hardly highway robbery. I get that you can make tacos for less, and taco trucks can be nearly as cheap...but for convenience, and having these at home, these can't be beat.
Not that good of a deal. If you actually buy street tacos, they are about $1 a piece (unless you live in an upscale area), and they come already dressed and warm/ready to eat. With this "deal," it's a pre-cooked stuff that's been sitting at the store for a looong time. Then, you have to warm them up and also dress tacos yourself. Might as well just go get real street tacos really.
We use their rotisserie chicken to make street tacos. We use cotija cheese crumbled(not pre-crumbled) instead of shredded. Avocado oil lightly on the corn tortillas use cast iron to heat it up. We season the chicken a few different ways to change it up. Might not hit the same convenience but the taste can be better tailored. Also for a side try corn with cotija, butter, mayo and paprika. Great for friends! Invite me if you are making some.

$1? I can't get anything worth eating for less than $2, and my local ones are $2.50 minimum. And I am very far from an "upscale area."
Now, I'm not saying that these Costco ones are worth it, but from a price standpoint they're less than you can realistically get street tacos for. Plus you don't actually have to drive and get them when you're hungry.

Obviously cost would vary what you have around you. If you live in an area with higher Mexican immigrants, you'd have more access to cheaper tacos as there would be more taco trucks competing each other. Many places also have Taco Tuesday (do a search for your area) as it's a popular concept. I don't know where you live, but $2.50 minimum is way over-priced though. Taco trucks usually go for $1.50 per taco on average. It costs them only about 40 cents to make each taco.

I work in construction, everyday, a food truck stops by and sells $4 tacos or $10 burritos. I'm in the bay area, CA and have been to Southern California where tacos are anywhere from $1-$1.50 from food trucks. Tons of immigrants up here too but last I've checked, tacos are at least $3 each from any food truck around me.

I looked for one with the most meat (and less of the other stuff), a good deal for $11.
