How reliable are these refurb workstations for small business use? Anyone have any experience?
these should be rock solid reliability wise. friend of mine uses older precision desktop for 6 years now...
overall, this stuff should be over engineers... but remember, these are off lease, and are 3-4 gens behind, so you can always get a dud... but those usually identified very quickly, so 100 days return policy is very helpful here.

I've purchased 20-30 refurbished computers from Dell for small office use. Generally they're perfect. I've had two issue that were fixed under warranty (one on-site next day, one mail-in).

Dell: Precision > Optiplex > Vostro > Inspiron
I've owned, sold, and serviced Optiplex desktops for many years, and hardware issues have been very few and very far in between. Precision workstations are even more solid.
These have a longer warranty than most of what's sold on eBay but, imho, unless you're a Dell Precision diehard, this really isn't a SD ...

I've had great luck with these machines over the years. The business ones are built a lot more rugged than the consumer machines. I have a very old Optiplex 990 with a second generation i5 running as a Plex server that has been running 24/7 for probably ten years with no issue.
For the money they are really hard to beat in my opinion.
Protip, most Dells have built in diagnostics. Hit the f12 button repeatedly when you power it on until you get to a text boot menu. Then select Diagnostics. One of the main reasons I like Dell's. HP does it too. Good idea to run on computers you buy, esp refurbs.
