Doesn't seem like much savings (10% or so). You can see what's been available for this product in the attached chart.

Can you tell me the lowest price of this TV last few months? I can't find anything below this price. This is the LG base model but 65 inch 2019 model and less than $500 is sweet deal for me.

In the other post, Buckeyefan1 said "LG is supposedly dropping production of LCD sets this year after losing millions."

It was $579.99 last week and $549.99 yesterday (2/10/2020). Who know if this TV might be less than $400 next week at this price decreasing trend.

You can always request a price adjustment at Costco or return within 90 days and buy a cheaper one.

Not bad, the 49" at 329 is pretty good too. Too bad the contrast ratio sucks at 1100:1

I'm tempted to get the 65R625 but it's $250 more.

I chose this over the TCL 6 series vs Samsung 7 series during thanksgiving from Costco. It has been 479 since then and it still is . i am happy with the purchase but i sometimes wish the picture would be little brighter esp if tllContrast ratio could have been better . the magic remote is nice touch. Built in airplay netflix prime are easy to use.

So is it an LED or LCD? I didn't think it could be both.
LCD is a color changing layer, LED is (currently) a solid white backlight. LCDs don't produce their own light, and nobody can make colored LEDs small and tightly packed enough to make a consumer-sized TV with a decent resolution

An LED is a Light Emitting Diode. It's what creates the light you see on your TV. LCD is short for a liquid crystal display. It's the kind of display we've all been used to for the last years. This would be comparable to older tech like plasma, and in the old days, CRT (Cathode Ray Tubes). Before LCD TVs were backlit by LEDs, they were backlit by CFL (compact florescent light.) That's why LCD TVs used to be so much thicker like 10 or more years ago. I hope that makes sense.

TL;DR LCD TVs typically make their light with LEDs.
