If you can live with the poor specs of this "deal model" then fine. Otherwise take advantage of the extended period for free shipping return.

What's the issue? Just an ordinary low power 15 to 18 watt phone charger with low power C-PD circuits to capitalize on current C-PD interest and general lack of consumer awareness.

One spec highlights this more than any other: 6.8 hour recharge time. Wait a minute! Didn't you decide to go C-PD for the promise of fast PD charging? Should be 3 hours max. The other is missing voltages that some PD devices need like 12V and 20V.

If you've made a decision to move over to C-PD then buy a proper fully enabled one which offers all of the typical voltages up to 20 volts and recharges at the current 2020 standard speed of 2.5 to 3 hours.

Since this is merely a low power phone charger and many phones are built on Qualcomm Snapdragon preferring QC charging anyway, including the popular Galaxy's, an 18 watt 20,000 QC charger makes more sense in this low wattage range. Many if not most QC based chargers will re-fill even faster too, 50% faster, and will do it using only the original phone fast charger and cable and for half the price.

Summing it up this Meager 18 watt C-PD battery bank has sub-par performance for a PD bank in 2020 priced above $30. If you want C-PD then future-proof yourself and get one with 30 watts or better and with all the voltages. An inflated list price with a big coupon discount to make you think you got a deal when you didn't is a marketing scam.

Why does Anker hides the specs? Here they are:

Capacity 72 watt-hours 15 volts max

note the missing C-PD voltages, no 20V , 12V or 7V. No 3 amp rating on PD. and the low continuous 15 watt rating
PD Input: 5V 3A, 9V 2A, 15V 1.2A
PD Output: 5V 3A, 9V 2A, 15V 1.2A
PIQ Output: 5-6V 3A / 6-9V 2A / 9-12V 1.5A
Total Output 5V 3A 15 watts continuous
Size 158 × 74.2 × 19.25 mm / 6.2 × 2.9 × 0.8 in
This 'deal': Anker Model Number: A1281 Essential 20000 PD , Amazon ASIN B07SQ5MQ6K
Amazon user ratings are only 74% 5 star

ALTERNATIVES: Ravpower RP-PB201 20000 offers laptop charging at 60 watts from it's C-PD port. It can be recharged from full empty in 2.5 hours over C-PD at a mighty 30 watt input rate. Moreover it offers 5-20 volt input and output. Today's Feb 21 in-ad clip coupon price is $47. It has recently dipped to $35. If buying today then you will later thank yourself later for spending an extra $12 bucks. Probably not even that much since Amazon will tack on the full before coupon tax to the Anker.

For the same $35 price there are also many proper 30-45 watt C-PD banks available. If you can wait a month or two prices are trending down fast on C-PD banks.

God I'm an idiot. I just assumed it was like every other 5+ Anker charger that had LED's that went all the way around the circle. I'll leave my post up so everyone can shame me.
Does anyone else think Anker's quality control has gone downhill? I bought this one last time it was posted about a week ago and it will only charge up to 4 dots around the circle (I think there are 10). Still need to reach out to Anker for a replacement.

I ordered another smaller charger a few months back and the port was either really loose or defective. The cable needed to be in just right (had to prop it up on something) to get it to charge. They sent me a replacement, same thing. Third one came and seemed better at first, but a couple weeks later did the same thing. Got frustrated with it even though customer service is great and decided to just chalk it up as a loss.

Did I just get extremely unlucky twice in a row or are other people having similar issues? I have other Anker chargers that are 3+ years old and are excellent.

Edit: After reading some reviews it looks like my issue might be because I don't have a USB-C PD charger. Everyone in my household has iPhone's so no need for USB-C chargers. I just bought an micro-USB to USB-C adapter as that works fine for a wireless charger I have. Apparently an adapter doesn't work for this. I'll pick up a charger before reaching out to customer support. A little annoying as this means I have to carry around another charger to charge this thing, but I guess you live and learn.

Edit 2: I'm an absolute moron and apparently it only has 4 LED's unlike all other previous products which had LED's going all the way around the circle. Feel free to shame me!
neither..

Did you look at the instructions booklet that has 2 pages? It clearly shows there, and I believe on the product page on Amazon, that the charging indicator has four LEDs.

Not sure what would lead you to think there were ten..

I bought two of the 10,000 mAh version when they were on sale and they are great. the plastic finish has a slight texture to it, I prefer that rather than the cold uncomfortable metal of the Samsung 10,000 model for example. the Anker is also more compact and comes with a nice microfiber drawstring bag.

you don't need a PD charger to charge it either, my S10+ wall plug works just fine.

considering the (prior deal) $15 cost of the 10,000, I wouldn't say this is the best deal ever but it's not bad either.

There are only four dots, not 10 like some of the older models. I thought my non-USB PD charger was an issue, but it wasn't, it only has four LEDs to show charge levels.

Man, I very recently purchased the same version without the USB quick charging for about $5 less during a deal. Debating if I need a third one of these or should I consider returning the other...
