Does this thing actually work any better than a standard trimmer? aside from the fact that it's smaller and is probably easier to maneuver.

Wife vouches for it and it's very smooth and effective. Got it for $20 at CVS

I grabbed one on ebay for $6. At least looks exactly the same, but no brand. Unfortunately it requires 100s of passes to take any hair. Im surprised at the good reviews, wonder if these "brand" ones are somehow better.
