Found this item on clearance at local BB. They only had the display unit and were OOS but were able to place an order for delivery to home. This is an in-store (B&M) ONLY clearance item. Could have probably stacked in-store purchase offer for another 1-2% but forgot...

SKU 5580110
$160.99 + tax (MSRP $~400)

For reference/specs: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/niko...Id=5580110

There was a previous deal for ~$140 + tax for this lens, but it is refurbished with 90 day warranty. This is new with full Nikon warranty (1 year).

No, this is not the same as the kit lens, it has vibration reduction (image stabilization) which helps a LOT when you are zoomed in all the way.

Is this the model that requires newer Nikon body?

That's a different full-frame lens.

With having a full body camera, should I be concerned with this being a DX lens?

It'll work on FX (assuming your model works with AF-P) but you won't be taking advantage of the full sensor, which kinda defeats the purpose of having full frame in the first place.

Got mine for $142. My Best Buy didn't have any in stock and would've had to put it on order, so I asked why can't I have the floor model. Dylan, super helpful, asked his boss and made it happen (helps that it's on clearance). Turns out it was even cheaper that way.

I put this AF-P lens on a D5500 and a D5600 and it worked out of the box on both. You can flash the firmware on older compatible cameras to make it support newer lens but YMMV.

With VR this lens is entirely usable handheld with steady lens even at the long end of the lens. AF-P allows you to manually use the focus ring to self-focus at any time without having to remember to flip the switch like on AF-S lenses. Photos are sufficiently sharp at any focal length especially when you factor in the price of the lens.

Great for wildlife/nature photography or something as mundane as a graduation ceremony where your subject is always so far away!

Compatibility: D3 series, D4 series, D5, D300 series, D500, D6xx, D700, D750, D8xx, D3300, D3400, D5300, D5500, D5600, D7xxx.
