Seems like a good deal, but you should remove No Tax from the post since they do charge tax now.
I just ordered. No tax.

It's dependent on the state you live in.

Florida - no tax, but I updated the title.

Thanks (repped)

Thanks (repped). I see a couple of open box items at BB with good savings. Not for me but some may opt for that.

Since its release 1.5 years ago I had always wanted a Surface Go, but my minimum requirement was 8GB which was too expensive. If they would release 8GB model at this price I would have definitely bought one. But now the CPU is 2 years old and seeing how much AMD CPUs have improved, I am kind of hoping whatever Surface Go 2 is, it has a more competitive processor.

I always wanted one for travel but when I got my hands on one in a store it was disappointing. Windows is a poor os for small screens, far too busy and the hardware felt like a toy.

Would hold off for the Lenovo Duet Chrome tablet, same size but ChromeOS for a lightweight experience

The base Go is a loss leader for MS, and only exists as an equivalent to the 9.7" iPads (which is why it's priced where it is). I would not expect them to put anything substantial into it on the next round.

I use the 8GB model as my light weight computer. I do almost all of my work on it in the browser. It just barely fits in an Osprey Daylight Sling, but it travels exceptionally light.

The keyboard feels fine but given the size is a bit tight and requires mental adjustment. I usually pair it up with a Bluetooth mouse and I also have a USB C mini hub in my bag to do video sharing, or to plug USB A devices into it. For $399 it's a good value.

That all said, don't get upset when there is a spring launch of The Surface Book 3 (13" & 15") and Surface Go 2. Yes, the performance will be a bit better but the prices will go back up as well.

In the same boat. This is quite tempting and I'd probably jump right in if it included the keyboard. Hesitant and would like to see what Surface Go 2 specs would be. The size and full OS is perfect. If it also has LTE, I would end up FryTakeMyMoney.jpg

I'm not concerned about the CPU. It's fine with the higher configuration for basic tasks. My biggest concern was the battery. For $400 with 8GB/128 SSD this is a good deal, esp compared to similarly priced Chromebooks and tablets. Just have to understand there are limitations at this price point.
