I just pinched on the Pioneer VSXLX304. I went to the Magnolia Room and listened to every receiver against the speakers I have, and it was clean. Both this one the 304 and the 104 was actually pretty decent. I listen to more music, and Pioneer has a really really good processing system for sound quality. It might not be as amazing for some with respect to movies, but for music and fidelity it was solid. The VSXLX1-4 has been like $449 lately every other day. Lowest I think was around $400 on Black Friday.

Just some food for thought.

Can anyone help me with as to why mine is making humming noise like my oven? It is not any of the cable as I have unplug it before. I have to return one similar to this model because it started humming after a day of being plug in. This was the same case of a sony vsr..... also. I have also tried plugging it into a: surge protector a, power conditioner and a cheat plug. Thanks in advance.

Get an adapter that eliminates the ground plug and see if that clears it up.

Check to see if the humming occurs when it's plugged in by itself or try an outlet in another room

Feel like you already know this.. but different world of receiver
  • 9 Channel
  • 120 watt per channel
  • 3 zone
  • Bigger power supply
  • And double the price

What do you mean by cheat plug?

Also, what type of Power Conditioner? What input are you using on the conditioner?

Are you in a house or an apartment?

Did you check the outlet for any loose wires?

Noise from the receiver when idle at low volume? Or Harmonic distortion when the gain or volume is raised?

Do you have any lights or other electronics placed nearby generating interference?
