This isn't a 1/2 bad drive for the price and being hybrid it's great for expansion of a gaming rig.... you just have to remember it's not a true SSD... Hence, is if you switch games, it'll take a bit for 1st load, but 2nd load or map changes are close to SSD response speeds... (i.e. faster than a 7200 RPM drive).

Is there a performance difference between 2.5 and 3.5? I'm going to be using this for my Xbox one x

I believe the 3.5 spins a little faster. I use the 2.5 in my desktop and the speed feels fine.

this was a great drive for my macbook pro 13 2012 md102ll. it made that computer feel new again. i definitely would recommend it. i installed one on my mac mini 2014 with fusion drive running an nvme 2.0 as the main source and the firecuda 2tb as the archive storage... works very well.

I'm coming up on my 3rd year with this drive and I might have to buy another one as I filled it up with my 700gb Steam library, recordings, Chrome Downloads, etc. I would recommend it for the price as I got it for $60 (I think) on Prime Day in 2018. I've run it on as an external drive and then when I built a PC I put it in there. Barracudas, on the other hand, I've had one just about fail, until it started to not show up and I recovered most of the files, but I think 30gb or so I couldn't get out of it. It was only like 4 or 5 years old but it was used in a NAS so.

Pretty sure it fits my Razer laptop. Should I replace my 2nd 500G Samsung SSD? So I will have 500G SSD as my main drive, and 2TB SSHD for games and dates.

Might actually get one and put it in a hard drive enclosure for portable space... Or just put it on me desktop

It's good to store games all day... not important data. You can always reload games if drive "DED"

+1

Mine is reporting error after 2yr heavily used.

I bought the similar version of this 2TB SSHD 2.5yr ago. Will try the 5 yr warranty claim.
