This is a good price.

I bought mine on black Friday, also with a Tamron rebate. Got the check in a couple of weeks, no problem.

It's heavy, but built solid and versatile.

I've got mine on a D5500. This is my favorite photo I've taken with it so far: https://i.imgur.com/dJ8dNgN.jpg

Pretty good price but all the reviews seem to suggest the 16-300 is a more useful range and a lot smaller to carry.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think the 16-300 is older (way older) and this 18-400 is newer, I've been using the 18-400 for half year and it is one the most versatile lens I ever used. However I just gotta say, it IS heavy (on my a6500). This is a very good price unless you can find a new/openbox on ebay (I got mine for about $400 on there)

Does the educational discount stack with coupon code?

According to https://www.tamron.jp/en/product/.../b028.html it is a dx lens. Built for APS-C sensors

None of the reviews that I saw said that.

What adapter do you use? I have an a6600 and a Sigma MC-11, which I currently use an old Tamron 28-300mm lens with. How's the performance on your a6500; focus speed, does it hunt for focus much? Thanks!

I wasn't aware that there was even a device like that, do you recommend the Tap-in Console?

It's only needed if you need to adjust the focus between the lens and your camera or firmware updates.
