Not 7nm like the Ryzen 3rd gen, I'll stick with AMD for the price as my 3700x does all I need. If you wait around to buy the latest and greatest then you'll never finish a PC. The 3700x can be had for as low as $260 at microcenter. That's a steal and I doubt that intel will approach the value proposition that AMD does now.

Good luck with that! The rumor report I read said that its exact same architecture they have now just with more cores, So it's going to consume even more electricity! And you're going to even need even bigger Cooling!

The main reason to get more than 8 cores is for content creation/professional workloads, and AMD does better in most of those categories.
I think Intel's main selling point for the coming CPUs will be that they're enabling hyperthreading on everything. Gamers will probably go for 8c/16t or lower models.
