$40 upgrade fee on your future Verizon bill

Chat on VZW to see if they'll cut it in half. Worked for me.

I think you meant Activation fee. There is no upgrade fee AFAIK. You are either eligible to upgrade or not.
VZW now charges $40 activation fee unless you buy from them directly online and then it is less but I forget how much. -c2nah777

Decent deal but keep in mind the iPhone 9/SE 2 that's due to be released in March for a similar price with updated specs. Walmart is probably trying to dump their XR inventory before those come in

Only because they charge you for 6 more months...

About time Verizon had something for existing customers. Sad you have to go through Walmart to get it.

tmobile just did a trade-up offer when 11's came out. you get each for up to 50% off, depending which older model you send in. i remember a regular 7 would net 50% off of 11. i think that was a pretty good deal.

at $13-14, the at&t offer is very good in my opinion, even if it's the slightly aged xr. it's still an excellent phone, especially for those who are looking to upgrade from something like a 6, or need a replacement for a broken handset.

Great find, best price for an XR Verizon upgrade. Thanks, perfect timing! I also have an older plan and not the Unlimited and it still went through.

Just FYI the $40 activation fee is harder to get waived these days due to new rules for CS. YMMV of course.

Isn't idea how this compares to the X? Especially battery life? My X is lasting hardly 12 hours.

Can you pay it off early or do you have to keep the monthly payment? Any way to waive the upgrade fee via chat?
