Certainly the better return policy
Not really. It's best to keep it even if defective or not as described. Dont know if Yi still claims "crystal clear" video but it's not. Like 720i webcam from 2005. Forget about low light or reading plates in bright sun light. Or any light. Lol
why thumbs down? read reviews, try, compare to other cams, return.

I didn't and dont plan to. My point was about Amazons return policy but some of you just dont seem to get it. Lol
Having said that, I don't own this dashcam so am not going to promote or discard it for someone else who is interested and might know better than me (Unlike those who just like to look cool here).
All I can say based on my experience on other Yi Cams, they have a very good WiFi technology. None has a good Parking mode (And this one no exception) and I don't consider G-sensor replacement for true parking mode. All my current Yi s are battery and this one is claimed to be a capacitor. But funny enough, when you get a device with a battery and review you it, the review should indicate its a con because of bleb bleb and this guy is using the same exact mentality to say Capacitor is bad or what is the intrinsic nature of the difference between any battery and capacitor. Get some knowledge and common sense man.
This thing IS crap. Video is horrible. And, speaking of common sense...
It was a brand new item no reviews i know Yi makes other dash cams, i needed one, got tired of using phones. I read "crystal clear video in any conditions" "best in its class" etc so i bought one. Lane departure/adas didn't work at all. Video quality was terrible. I thought i got a defective cam. Replacement was exactly the same. Returned replacement. Long story short scumazon emailed me wanting to discuss my returns and something about their return policy. I told scumazon i understand bezos doesn't want me to return items but manufacturers and sellers don't need to overrate their items. If items don't function as advertised i'm not going to keep them. Simple. I reviewed and stated reasons for returns. But that's not enough for bezos. Scumazon kept replying. I also emailed Yi asking them what the deal was with false advertisement. They gave me some BS and never replied again. It was my first dash cam and i didn't know what to expect. Now i understand as long as it's 2mp sensor and low 15-20mbps bit rate, it's going to be shit. May as well get a $20-30 cam with a battery if capacitor is not needed. 30 or 60fps make zero difference for this cam. If they upped the bit rate to at least 30+, i'd be all over it.
I want to send some manufacturers a suggestion to clone Mobius Maxi. Mobius brand is dead. Maxi itself is extremely shit, but it's much better quality at 30 or 60fps because of higher bit rate. It's very discrete inside the car. Much better than what i have now or Yi cam.

I owned/returned 2 bc first one video quality was bad i thought it was defective. For parking mode i plugged it into a 10,000 power bank. I think it lasted all night. Problem was video quality in any light conditions. Garbage. Lane departure/adas never worked right for anyone. If Yi advertised "average quality in its class...nothing amazing...forget ⁰etc" price it appropriately, then it woudln't be a problem. Instead what they did when it first came out they combined reviews and ratings with another popular yi cam. Then this cam disappeared and now it's back but $10 more. It's worth $20-30 if you dont care about video quality.

BTW your comment above is solid common sense when giving the good & needed info, clearly.
