Or maybe people don't care that the information breached contained nothing of value. Or they realized that if they stopped using companies that had been breached they would have limited shopping/services options (Target, Home Depot, Marriott, eBay, JP Morgan, Uber, etc have all been breached).

For most companies it's not a question of "if" but "when". That's not an excuse for sloppy security but it might help keep things in perspective as to why Wyze can owners aren't up in arms.
This thing catches my kids sneaking downstairs at night everytime.

And spying on your kids is what this is really all about.
I've had one outside all winter so far, its not the pan/tilt model, just a reg wyze cam. Its under the overhang eve of my garage protected from rain or snow that way. So far it hasnt skipped a beat even in the cold Minnesota weather -20's and colder. I figured its worth a gamble for the $20ish it cost.

This is a great camera for spying on my dog when I'm away from home, but I certainly don't rely on it as a security camera.

Have you mounted one outside? Using any of those aftermarket housings? Tempted to do this with all the exterior outlets I have.

that's the main thing I use them for. I've got three Border Collies. 6 non-pan cams in the living room and a motion sensor in the bedroom in case we left the door open or they opened it.
as active as they are, it's surprising how little they move around when we are not home. usually it's them barking. we live out in the sticks. not too concerned about intruders.

Thanks, in for one. Got a couple Wyze cam v2s and very happy with them especially for the cost ($25). Could definitely make use of the pan features of this version.

Mine mounted outside on the porch survived the "polar vortex" in Chicago. I think temperature was at -26F at one point if I remember correctly.
