Imagine getting a game for $1 that someone spent thousands of hours creating and calling this the "period of inflation and greed" just because you got even more some other time. Period of greed indeed.
I looked up the reviews in steam and it looks like this game has a very emotional story. Lots of people saying that they cried at the end. Sounds interesting
I bought this for like a while ago on sale for 7 bucks. It's not the longest game in the world, but it's pretty atmospheric and emotional at the end. It's a steal for a dollar.

I feel like I just spent $1 to add another game to the hundreds of games in my backlog. Still, good deal if it's a decent game. Art style looks nice and graphics in game so far aren't bad.
From Rockpapershotgun: "Sanctimonious from the opening moments, this is a mediocre third-person exploration game made nauseating by the most self-obsessed narration I've ever encountered. It makes Dear Esther look like Tolstoy."

Mildly agree because
some of the narration is cringey. I bought/completed it on Switch. There's conversations playing at times between two people and one character always says things like"yes my love..." etc (who talks like that?!)
However, looking past those occasional eye rolling moments, it was a nice journey and I didn't regret the time I spent playing it. I recommend it ESPECIALLY for $1.

I'll call that harsh but semi-fair. There are a lot of these super-personal indie games made seemingly as therapy for the designer, but among that genre this isn't too bad. For a dollar the cost is more about your time than the money. If you have some free time it's got a nice style and is a decent and chill game. If you're pressed for time and have a backlog of dozens of better games then don't worry if you miss it.
I checked my notes and I already got this as part of the $1 tier in a Humble Bundle in March 2019.
$1 tier:
Among the Sleep
The First Tree
Tangledeep
vs. $1 for The First Tree now.
As is often the case, deals on games and movies were better in prior years. We are sadly in a period of inflation and greed so prices just aren't what they used to be. That's especially noticeable comparing each BF's deals.

Sounds like a perfect airplane game. Maybe a little too short actually...won't have anything to play on the return trip.
Firewatch is great for this too--ran OK on my surface pro 5 (i5 model) with a bluetooth controller and made for a fun ~7-8 hours of flying.
