Felt shallow but I haven't played in the series since 2 20 years ago. Dog fighting was (and maybe always was?) just pull up and left/right and wait for a target to appear for missiles. Not that deep. Even versus the elite enemies. My end of action report is kind of silly looking
But for $6 why not

I thought of the same thing. I'm wondering if it's worth getting the ultimate edition. I enjoyed the series back in the PS2 era.

Yeah it's essentially Top Gun (Nintendo 8 bit) or first/third person Afterburner updated to modern standards. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it's not a Flight Sim. I don't believe VR is supported on PC in Cockpit mode which would have made it more interesting even with it's limitations, but it was in some way on the Playstation VR platform.
