I have no first hand experience with this one, but it seems a stretch to call something with a 40Hz lower end a subwoofer. That said, for $100 and the right expectations this seems like a decent deal. The Polk PSW10/108 is pretty popular when on sale for this price and it also only goes to 40Hz and only has half the RMS power of this one. So, if you have a smaller room and looking for some extension on some smaller or mid-size main speakers, seems like a decent deal.
There may not be a better option at this price, but I don't think that qualifies this as a decent deal. The Dayton SUB-1000 is a significantly better product for $20 more. Unless you need a sub ASAP and have a $100 limit and can't wait to save up $20 more, there's not much reason to buy this... and even then you might find something better looking for a used sub on Craigslist.

Good price, anyone have any experience with this? Frequency response seems better suited for PA/Large auditorium vs. home theater.

I have these paired with my PC setup. For a 100w subwoofer it isn't bad at this price. If you listen to music most of the time then this isn't a bad option. For gaming it's not the best but you still feel the mid bass thump pretty solidly. I'd say if you are on a strict budget you can buy then and try them out. JBL/harman offers 30 day zero-risk return so if you don't like it you can just return it anytime within 30 days for a full refund.

The amplifier on my Polk PSW110 broke just before the 3 year warranty expired. Polk was pretty quick about repairing it but it shortly died after less than a year. Not sure if it was just a fluke (Amazon reviews for that model mention similar issues) but I'm in need of a replacement.

I'd spend a little more money and buy a Dayton 10 or 12 rather than this. I have one and it's alright for music but for HT it doesn't get low enough.

Valid point, especially if you can wait for the SUB-1200 to go on sale.

I would go even further and say that if you can wait and save up $20.
I would suggest why not continue to save $20 or more every month and next time SVS or Monoprice or any one of the other good ID's have a sale ,getting one of them.

SVS just had a sale on their PB-12NSD for $399 which is much much better in all aspects than Dayton subs.

That would last you years and would not need to upgrade anytime soon if at all.

You will get there much sooner than you think.

These incremental upgrades cost you so much more in the long run and you get a good sub sooner!

A subwoofer basically is anything with limited response to 200hz and below.

regardless of whether this is a good deal on this particular product, this product is a laughable subwoofer.

for music you generally want down to at least 30hz, and for movies you really want as low as you can get.

this thing goes down to 40hz, pretty pathetic.
