The two most common weaves are plain or percale and sateen. Back in the day plain weave sheets with 180 or better thread counts were called percale. Less than 180 were called muslin. Percale is generally more crisp than muslin and generally lasts longer. Plain weave sheet thread counts rarely go above 300. Sateen weave is one under, four over. Percale one over, one under. The result is percale is more crisp and more durable. Sateen is softer but less durable. The mega thread counts are always associated with sateen sheets. Is a 1000 thread count sateen "better" than a 180 tc percale sheet? Maybe, maybe not. Depends on personal preferences and other factors. these should be called muslin not percale. are they good? I have no idea, but I'd take these cotton sheets over polyester or sateen cotton. But they are all cotton and will wrinkle a lot, if that bothers you.
thread count is only 144 (not even 180), should be very thin.

Isn't 144 thread count very low?

Reviews say they shrink after washing and barely fit afterwards.

Wow. Things you learn on SD. Thanks a bunch. I didn't even know what thread count meant.
