A lot of people get standing desks due to back problems, as interspersing sitting and standing throughout the workday tends to be easier on most peoples' backs. If you have a pre-existing back problem, lifting up a standing desk that weighs 20-30 pounds at a potentially awkward angle could be extremely counterproductive. That's where motorized standing desks come in.

I got one of these refurbished (it had one scuff on it) from Newegg and I've been very happy with it. Got a cheap dual monitor arm and it is honestly better than my coworkers ergotron $300+ thing. With the weight of multiple monitors and stuff on it the motor is nice. It took me a while to figure out I could unplug the motor to thread cables through the horizontal support, but once I did it's super clean with no cable mess really. If your looking to add sit stand capability to your desk I think this is a good and affordable way to do it.

As bad as Newegg customer service has gotten that may as well be the case for everything they sell. Yeah, would agree that this item isn't something you'd want to strike a no refund/ no return deal on.
