I bought a pair of these out of curiosity. I'm 60 and have been into audio since I was a teenager. I've owned many expensive pairs of speakers and I was pleasantly surprised with the F300s. They'd have to really sound bad and be built like crap to not be worth the sale price. They don't, and they're not. I'm using them with a mid-fi receiver and a small sub for stereo only. The bass is a little thin (may improve with use), and the midrange has a little something missing, but for several hours last night I found myself enjoying the music instead of analyzing it. My biggest gripe (if you can have any at this price) are the grills. They're pretty thin and don't attach too well. I don't think you'll want to pull them on and off a lot to show your buddies the pretty copper cones. BTW- I ordered these Thurs morning and they were delivered Friday morning. Never expected that with free shipping.
I've had these for more than a week now. I wouldn't classify myself as an audiophile but I do appreciate good sound and as a SDer, bang-for-buck. For background information, I am not completely new to the audio world. A while back, I made some high quality MTMs using Dayton Reference components with a great crossover design, high quality resistors, capacitors and inductors and a handmade tuned cabinet with real wood veneer. I have also designed/installed a 3-way setup with active crossover, full DSP and infinite baffle subwoofers in my car. No, I do not have much experience comparing different models and brands of consumer grade speakers, nor have I heard the JBL 590s etc... BUT

I am impressed with these speakers. They are extremely efficient, very lively, have great dynamics and solid bass. When I ordered them, I was concerned about them being too bright. I've always been sensitive to bright sound and sibilance. I wouldn't call these overly bright but I do have these in a big room. I may tone them back a touch, but it's really not a problem for me. For home theater, this seems to actually be a positive attribute as action scenes and some sound effects are more pronounced. The midrange and lower midrange does seem to be lacking a bit, both in volume and detail. Some sound correction may improve this. The bass is also not super articulate but it's there in abundance. It's plays down to 40Hz easily and even 30Hz is quite audible. Overall, I am very happy with these speakers and would buy them again.

For those complaining about this being a sponsored deal: Who cares? This is slick deals and this is a slick deal!
I want to say the Klipsch Synergy III replaced these or was comparable.

If you are just looking for speaker that rocks a large room these will do the job.

If you are an audiophile they are going to sound very bright compared to the newer RP Klipsch speakers.

For 300 bucks? idk if you can really be that disappointed though

How do the F-300s compare to the RF 82iis? I'm a completely aloof when it comes to Klipsch naming scheme.
