I've used liquid cooktop cleaners and found that powdered Bon Ami cleanser works just as well, maybe better because it's a powder.

Agree. Bon Ami is also the best windshield cleaner there is.

When I had gotten first flat cook top I got something similar to this and was cussing out how difficult it was to clean. Then used a dish sponge's few years later one day (coarse side) and burnt gunk just easily scrubbed right off. Years of pain inducing cleaning with specialized product and wondering why it's so hard until I just used a normal sponge..

The course side can scratch the glass surface. Not recommended. I made the mistake and don't want others to do the same.

This is what I use and there are no scratches, reflects like a window.

I used to be careful at first, but then I realized I will probably keep this stove until it breaks down or has no resale value anyway, so why torture myself.
