14% 1-star...with many of those reviews directly from damaged screens which is always shipping related and shouldn't be factored into a products review. Just because a box "shows no damage" doesn't mean it wasn't dropped flat so no visible damage, but surely a huge jolt to the internally packed TV. Those people don't know how packages are handled in real life - very naive. Under no condition will a TV be packed with a cracked screen dude to poor quality control - that's abysmally stupid to think.

The other technical reviews are a mixed bag. "TV isn't really 240hz"... no shit dude...lol. "No Amazon Prime app"... yes because the version of Android TV shipped with the TV doesn't have Prime, because Amazon and Google refused to play nice (Google is Android TV). BUT if they had bothered to update the software they would have found out the current version does have Prime available...

...and ultimately that's the issue with a lot of the other 1-star reviews. They are made from folks who did NOT update the TVs firmware. They stand there wishing Hisense had a fix and never update the firmware...lol.

That makes of the last of those reviews a mix of general folks who just had bad luck (every TV even LG OLEDs get 1-star reviews) and folks who forget they bought a budget TV.

This TV is the best value currently on the market - bottom line.
I own one. Panel response is slow- it's the slowest one Rtings has tested currently. You will see motion trails especially in gaming and action scenes. Someone will scream about how my settings must be wrong as usual, but this is a limitation of the panel and Hisense even confirmed this to me personally when I contacted them. So it is.

OS is very laggy and needs rebooted often or else it will hang up and crash. Android is way too demanding for the processor on this TV. Wifi is buggy, I recommend using wired ethernet.

Lots of bugs with audio. I quit trying to use external speakers. Hisense has been saying they are "aware" but no updates ever issued.

HDR bugs through HDMI ports. External devices don't always display the correct colorspace, again a confirmed bug many are experiencing, but no fix. Youtube HDR doesn't work through some external devices like the Firestick currently, often takes multiple switches to get my PC recognized properly. Sometimes only a restart fixes it.

Bug with local dimming turns it back on while saying it's off. Confirmed by Rtings.

Overall, the best thing I can say is the TV has very nice color, but a slow response panel and many bugs holds it back. If the panel response isn't an issue, and they actually fixed the bugs, it could be good value. I'm not very happy with my purchase at the moment. It will depend largely on your planned usage.

Lots of 1 star reviews on amazon, some mention quality issues, cracked screens etc.

Others mention TV randomly turning itself on and off, losing sound, having to be factory reset multiple times a day

Anyone here who got one during the last deal can weigh in?

I have Hisense televisions.

I currently have the non android version of this one and love it.

I have had it for over a year and the video and audio is incredible for the price.

Early models had bad audio but good video, they finally fixed it with their current releases.

Is the native motion rate 60 Hz or 120 Hz on these models?

Had this for a few months now and no issues. Keeping the Android OS up to date seems to be the biggest issue for many people. I bought it specifically as a gaming TV in my office space and so far I have no complaints.

This is my first Hisense purchase, as I've been a brand loyalist to LG and Samsung for decades, but with TV prices sitting where they have been I've decided TV's are replaceable every 3-5 years, so why spend $1,200 when you can spend $300-$400.

For what it's worth the metal frame, metal feet, and structure seem quite a bit higher quality than the 4 year old LG I paid $1,000 for that it replaced.

What a great deal, at least from a value standpoint. I recently owned a Hisense (4k 50" 120 Hz) which had a 4 yr warranty. It died at 4 yrs and 6 months.... Always seems to work that way haha!

Anyways I just bought a Samsung UN55RU7100 for around $360 (added a 5yr warranty for $50) and am very happy with that. I probably would have bought the H8F if it was this price just a week ago.

Unfortunately, I have never seen a Hisense H8F in person, but specs wise, it looks like it should beat the Samsung, but I have a hard time believing that as the Samsung has such nice a picture, but the brightness of the H8F is where it should rival this particular Samsung.

Quality wise, I think the Samsung beats out Hisense, but they are all around the same really. I would go and visually preview the H8F and if it looks good to you, DO IT.

Maaaaan, I just bought this from Best Buy on Monday! Good thing they price match lol.

Full disclosure, the software IS buggy on this set. I also have a Sony X900F with identical software and it runs like a dream compared to this TV. Then again, it also costs three times as much.

With that said, for the price this TV is amazing. Great picture quality and feature set. 60hz panel though. Something to be aware of.

There exists no consumer content higher than 60hz right now and for a long time. Your X900F with its native 120hz panel, doesn't have HDMI 2.1 so it can't do 4k @ 120hz anyways either.

120hz @ 1080p is mostly enjoyed by sports fans which... I've never heard someone watching football say they wish it was 120hz...lol. Its a feature literally you shouldn't care about....unless you are gaming on a PC. If thats the case... you'll be spending a lot more.
