I need a new board I'm 200 lbs 5'8 and ride a 158 atomic board. Kind of want something with more control. Not sure what type of board to get just looking for all mountain

Are these boards decent quality? Do you think the discount is actually decent? It looks like it might be an upscale discount with only a real 20% ish off the real original price. (I dont think these boards are usually $500+)

Greetings fellow thick snowboarder! I am similarly built. If still available, the High Society CV8 or the High Society Temerity would both be good for you. I ride a 162 Temerity and I find it to be very predictable, agile with some pop. Good for all mountain.

I wouldn't really suggest one from that list for you. depending if you are more of a all mountain carver or looking for something freestyle driven there are different boards I would recommend. I am 5 11 and 215. I ride an Arbor Brian Iguchi camber for hard carving and just general tearing up the mountain. Its a stiff board and with 200+ pounds you can definitely control it well. For my jib board, which surprisingly is great as an all mountain is the Lib Tech Skate Banana. Alot more flexible and playful, but really can hold an edge crushing the mountain.

Now what you need to also think about is the rest of your gear, how soft are your boots and bindings? they play a lot into your control. I have Burton Cartels on the LibTech and they have good flex laterally and nice and stiff heel to toe. For my Arbor I have Nitro Phantoms. Very stiff binding that is great for carving and control. I also ride mid stiff boots as a more general boot that I can ride any which way I want.

height has zero to do with sizing a board. zero.

you size based on weight.

i'm new to snowboarding. I have an old 154cm snowboard. But when I ride on it, It very hard to learn the S turn. My leg get tired after 5 mins. i'm 5'7, 165 lbs. Which one should I get? Any tips would be great. Thanks.

Try adjusting your binding width and angles. If your bindings are too close together it's alot harder to turn and it requires more effort. About shoulder width apart is the common recommendation, start from there and play around with it using slightly wider stances.

Anything cheap, works, and is in your weight range is a great beginner board (as another stated, it's all about weight, not height). There isn't any snowboarding tech that helps you learn, just practice. If you're looking to get into snowboarding it's better to get a cheap setup to learn the basics, then upgrade to a more advanced setup once you know what type of riding style you have.

I have ride boots and the union atlas bindings hoping this weekend I can just demo a board as they normally offer free demos on the weekends. I'm more a beginner and green rider so not go into the park. seasons almost ending so i may wait to see what happens or check out rei garage sale
