This is just one possible configuration I think is Bang for buck but the price can be reduced by many ways as per your requirements. You can go 16GB Ram or even 8GB ram, Ryzen 3 Pro 3200GE, 256GB SSD. However, the price drop is very insignicant apart from the CPU and I would recommend to go with at least with 16GB of Ram and 256GB SSD.

If you're looking for small form factor PC like Intel NUC, this is a way better option. Reasons are as below:

This Model is coming with 32GB DDR4 Memory, 512GB PCIe SSD and OS whereas in NUC, you have to source everything.
This Tiny Desktop is fully upgradable and using Desktop components. Ryzen 5 3400GE is 35W part of actual 3400G and using standard AM4 socket. You can upgrade the CPU in the future with new upcoming Renoir (Ryzen 4000 series Desktop APU) APU.
The VEGA 11 Graphics is way better than any NUC Graphics available at this price.
This even has a PCIe x16 Slot and you can actually use a PCIe Expander cable to bring it out of the Chassis and add a dedicated graphics card with external 6 Pin/8 Pin Power Supply directly to the card. I have the Intel version and it works perfectly fine with my GTX 1660.

With all these advantages, this is still smaller than the NUC.
Except you picked wrong AMD cpu.
Except this has Ryzen 5 3400GE. Also, the NUC you are referring, cost nearly $700 for the barebones. So, keep your facts reviewed.

With 10% back from a very popular cash back site, it comes down another $45.

For the footprint of the form factor, the upgradable CPU socket, and the specs, this feels like a really great deal @ ~$405.

Not what I have heard of. These uses GE series processor which are 35 Watt TDP Low powered version and does not generate much of a heat.

These are great desktop PC's. Small too which is basically an office standard now.

Just a reminder this ryzen 5 3400GE CPU is still zen+ gen made in 12 nm fab, not the latest zen2 made in 7nm.

Be sure you're using the code in the OP and not the one Lenovo automatically applies. They look similar but they're not. I just tried again and it looks like it's still working.

Yes it's better than a similarly priced NUC, but don't count on the Renoir upgrade actually working. No guarantee that Lenovo will release the AGESA/BIOS updates necessary to make it work, and who knows if we'll even get a 35W Renoir APU you can buy at retail.
