Any flashlight in 2020 that requires you to cycle through a blinding strobe light to turn it off is a joke.

Anker have been a meme in the flashlight community for ages.

Sofrin offer much better flashlights at the same price point and better. Their spec sheet, user interface and stats including CRI best everything made by anker down the board..

Anyone recommending this either has absolutely no idea how it compares to other flashlights or is a shill. No one who knows flashlights would recommend this as a buy. This is a very standard price too. I've seen it go for below 20.

Alternatives

Sofirn SP31 v2.0 - efficient driver and XP-L HI emitter for more throw than most lights in this class. Cool white only, unfortunately, but a good value with the features of the Fenix PD32 at half the price. $29 alone, or $36 with battery and charger.

Wowtac A6 - a budget option under 100mm long. MicroUSB, battery included, optional neutral white, 1460 lumen burst mode. $30

Viltrox L116T - a 95 CRI, adjustable color temperature LED panel intended to be used as a camera light with adjustable output from about 200 lumens to 1000 lumens. Also works great as fixed lighting with a DC power supply, or a portable area light with a Sony NP-F camera battery. A battery holder and a bit of soldering will allow it to run on 2x18650. $34

Viltrox VL162T - similar to the above, but more focused, and with a small amount of visible tint shift at the edges of the beam. $27

Astrolux FT03 SST-40 FET driver, SST-40, big reflector, 26650/21700/18650 and USB-C (probably only A-to-C) charging. 955m throw and 2313 lumens according to zeroair. There's also an XHP50.2 version that trades some of the throw for output. $32

Convoy C8 XP-L HI (new firmware version) - 1x18650. Most people prefer the neutral white 3A tint. This isn't in the performance class of the other high-output lights, but it's over 500m FL1 throw that fits in a jacket pocket for $25 or less. Note that there are a lot of C8s on the market from different companies, but this C8 is the one most people should get. High-CRI Luminus SST-20 available by request. $25
I'm glad you asked.

'Suppose you meet someone who tells you about a great new product. She tells you it performs wonderfully and offers fantastic new features that nobody else has. Would that recommendation factor into your decision to buy the product? Probably.
Now suppose the person works for the company that sells the product – or has been paid by the company to tout the product. Would you want to know that when you're evaluating the endorser's glowing recommendation? You bet. That common-sense premise is at the heart of the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) Endorsement Guides [ftc.gov].'

The 2 cell model is non-removable.
The LC90 (in this thread) is single cell, and removable.

A bunch of people usually complain about anker deals being shill posts but who cares, the lc90 is great at this price, had mine for about 2 or so years now, given a few as gifts too.

Same here. I have a couple of flashlights that are brighter but this has become my go-to for about a year now. No complaints.

It does very rarely, sometimes even cheaper than this deal:

However, do note the two 18650 batteries are not removable, which means no changing batteries or doing external charging.
I personally would get this one and a second 18650 battery for the extended run time.

I bought this last August for $20.49 but I'm buying another one even at the higher price because I like it so much.

I have both this and the 2 cell and prefer the 1 cell. The 1 cell feels more solidly built. The 2 cell also uses PWM (pulse width modulation) for brightness levels less than 100%, which gives me eyes strain.

I really like mine and going to get another. Favorite feature is the ability to push in for a nice flood mode. It would be perfect if it omitted the annoying strobe/flash modes but they all seem to have that crap.
