Beginning March 4 thru the 29th, Costco will be placing this excellently featured dual-drive laptop on sale - it sold out within a couple of hours the last time they placed it on sale. I picked it up during that sale and I mainly use it for video editing, at which it really excels. It's an excellent, feature-rich, well-built laptop: a beast. FYI, you automatically get a free 2nd year warranty from Costco and if you use the Costco (Citi) credit card, they'll double the warranty, giving you 4 years of worry-free coverage. You'll also get a free 1 year subscription to McAfee Multi Access via download. Costco will email you the download link and activation code.

I went ahead and attached a breakdown of the Alienware m15 r1 vs. the MSI GE75 Raider for those mulling their options between the two.

You get a bigger screen and extra HDD with the MSI, but that's about where the advantages end with this one - at least in my opinion.

The m15 has TB eGPU support (with some tinkering) and also supports the Alienware Graphics Accelerator which, while proprietary and flimsy, is a good bit faster than Thunderbolt 3 eGPU's and cheaper to boot. If you're looking for viability down the line, eGPU support is something worth keeping in mind as you're much more likely to be limited in the future by your GPU than your CPU.

m15 has WiFi 6 support vs. the GE75's 802.11ac support. Bigger battery and, of course, lighter weight given the smaller screen size.

While the m15 is unlikely to capitalize on the 240Hz display when being pushed by an RTX 2060, it's still not a bad feature to have and it could become more useful with an eGPU, though I imagine most will use an external monitor in that case.

All in all not a bad deal for the GE75, but if you snagged the Alienware and are okay with sacrificing screen size for portability I'd just stick with your original order.

We bought this for my son the last time it was on sale, and set it up over Christmas. His laptop now blows away his brother's laptops. He loves it, it devours anything he tries to play with it!

This isn't the cheapest 2060 laptop I've seen ($1100 is the cheapest), but just for a $100, you'd have to be a colossal moron to miss on a 144Hz panel, 16GB of RAM and freakin' dual drives from the factory. This is one of the best gaming laptop deals I've ever seen, even counting Black Friday

I bought Alienware m15 (rtx 2060/32gb ram/15'' 240hz/512GB/i7-9750) for $1253. Do you think I should cancel it and get it?
