It looks like AT&T may be starting a new promotion for the start of the month. I just went to my account to see what is offered since my 100mbps fiber plan is about up. Only 100mbps($45/mo) and 1000mbps($39.99/mo) is offered, no 300mbps is offered, but it was available a day ago for $40, and I saw an ad for it on TV today. If you have AT&T internet, check the plans offered in your account dashboard. There is no mention of equipment charges, but this is for a bundle. Southern states.

AT&T Internet 1000
Includes unlimited internet data$59.99
$20 off for 12 months with bundle-$20.00

Internet subtotal
$39.99

I was tempted to do it since I have $50/mo for 300/300 plan but that is lifetime deal I have. If I switch to this, I'll be giving up the lifetime $50 deal...what's 300/300 go for now?
I feel like 300 is more than enough for the foreseeable future so I would stick with your lifetime plan. There's bound to be more deals down the road so if you find out that 5 years down the road you need the 1000 then you could always switch then but as of right now this only buys you 1 year of the 1000 and after that you may be facing an increase unless you can keep haggling deals with service reps.

Current customer. Went from 300 for $50 to 1000 for $50. No equipment charge before or after.

Got email stating my order has been processed but haven't seen the speed increase yet.
Reboot your modem and check again.

Thanks OP. currently a Spectrum customer in the CLT area and been wanting to switch due to recent frequent outages. Was able to chat with support and got the installation/activation fee waived. And got $125 rewards instead of $100. Good deal.

I called and have ATT keep the same rate for my internet 300 last year and it was pretty straight forward. I will be doing the same thing one year from now.

You will love it. Just switched from 300 mbps to 1000mbps and saved 10 dollars per month.

Probably not available in my area. This is scumcast/verizon zone. Not even fios for my location. Would gladly switch if was available and unlimited or unthrottled at least 150gb/month. Paying scumcast $24+ with tax for phone and hotspot 30/5mb. It's convenient to have access to hotspots and i dont even need a home modem or router but as of end of march will be paying almost $40 with tax for same service. Scumcast will likely increase prices every year or two.

Did your speed increase yet? I got the processed email as well about 3 hours ago but still on the 300 plan speeds. My account shows the change is still processing and is scheduled to go into effect at midnight.

as stated earlier in this thread, signed up after seeing the price when I went to manage plan. Was on 300/300 for $40 /mo no equiment fees which was expiring this month. Now it says same $40 for 1Gig and didn't show equiment fee on confirmation page. Hoping it stays, but worst case, I am ok with a $10 hike for 1Gig and unlimited bandwidth, and another good thing I see is that the non-promo price after 12 mos is only going up by $20, which isn't bad for an ongoing price ($60/mo).

I have att wireless lines, so didn't need to get TV (seems overpriced) for the bundle price on internet. Soon after I signed up, I lost my internet (bypassed the att modem to put UniFi USG hooked up to ONT directly). Had to reboot everything in sequence and even had to hook up att modem/router directly to ONT once but it is all back up now. Speed tests are showing close to 1Gbps down but only about 550 Mbps up. Not sure whats up with that, but that's hardwired anyway. Even with UniFi HD and 2 AP AC Pros, I max out around 600Mbps on iPhones and even lower on other devices over Wifi.

Is this a recent thing, how long ago was that experience? The user videos of ATT Fiber installs on Youtube show a fiber cable to inside their homes. The half a dozen videos I've seen were from 2016, 2017, and 2018 and they all show the same type of setup. Fiber cable to an outside box at the house (looks like just a box to join two fiber ends together), then there's another fiber cable that runs from that outside box to an inside box. That inside box converts the fiber to ethernet which runs to the ATT WiFi modem.
You're correct. I have AT&T and there's fiber to a converter inside my garage, then Ethernet from there to the modem in my closet.
I think it depends on the age of the neighborhood. I live in a newly built home.

I am reading mixed reviews. Is it automatic that the 1000 plan is unlimited data or is that only in certain areas? Thinking of switching over from Comcast.

I'm almost at the point that I would start handing out blow jobs to get a decent internet in Arlington TX Frown
Is it really that hard to get decent internet smack in the middle of the DFW metroplex? Many of us out here in smaller cities get the wonderful choice of one hard wired internet service provider. Not trying to be a jerk, just genuinely curious how bad it can be in a big city with multiple choices like that.

There's ATT Fiber and Frontier Fios all over Dallas County.
