reviews say youre lucky to get 2 hours screen time before battery is depleted. that is early 2000's performance right there lol. kinda defeats the point of getting a small laptop... you want this to have something portable but then youre always stuck with a charge cord on it.
they do have a battery pack option, and it does look like it can charge through it's USBC port.. so maybe its not a big deal
btw, $500 is a good price. Cant touch this on ebay used for less than $600
This model (7386) looks like a successor to my model (7373), which I purchased in December 2017 for about $575 after taxes, price match, and rebates. The motherboard on mine failed six months in, but it was repaired by Dell under warranty at no additional cost to me (other than the inconvenience).
When it was new, I got barely six hours of battery life. Two years later, I get only two hours. I travel with this laptop, so I pretty much have to carry a 45W PD power bank if I want to be sure I can use it on a flight. I'm already resigned to buying a replacement laptop earlier than I planned, and a bigger battery is the top item on my list!

integrated 38Whr battery on an i5 with a touchscreen.....I seriously don't understand at all why manufacturers do this. It would be another $5 to them to add another cell into it, or use three bigger cells, and this thing surely has the space for it.
This is a great deal that is simultaneously unbuyable

that would devalue their higher end models though... gotta remember they aren't making laptops to give you the best value. theyre making laptops to make the most money.

Interesting. I bought a 7375(Ryzen) spring 2018. Same needs as yours+ a bit of light gaming. The battery so far has held up fairly well.
Made some comaprisons against the Motile 14, this looks like a decent machine. The biggest concern is the battery life, and I looked online and it looks relatively easy to swap once battery performance begins to degrade. So I bit, hope it doesn't bite me back.
For reference, information online:
The Dell Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1 Black Edition measures 0.63 inches (15.9mm) at its thickest point and weighs 3.1 pounds (1.39kg).
But other web pages suggests it can weigh up to 3.64 lbs. So it's a bit on the heavier side for a small laptop in this class.

My daughter will get over it.
With tweaking you can stretch the battery life and longevity.
