That's a very capable CADD workstation if you don't mind adding 32gb ram for ~$100. Great find but I don't need one now. Just last week ordered 2 lenovo P53 for work.

These things are built like tanks, super upgradeable, good thermals, but bear in mind they are pretty bulky and heavy for a modern laptop.

Laptop is just shy of 6 pounds, charger is just over 1 pound. Personally I don't carry the charger around with me unless traveling as my workplace uses Dell laptops so I have spares there and just keep the original at home.

It's a bit of a chonky unit but thermals are excellent and big expandability if you're just looking for raw performance. I don't mind having a heavier laptop but I also have a lightweight 13" ultrabook for when i just need browsing and media which is usually what I take when I travel.

Also the HDD is literally e-waste when you get it, easy to swap drives so please toss it the moment you get it lol.

Anyone have any opinions on the Warranty & Services? Going for ProSupport Plus - as it covers spills, drops, etc. - looks to be worth the effort. Thoughts?

The graphic designers of a company I somewhat mange always buy Alienware laptops and more recent, Surfaces w/ a GPU. (~2200 + 3year warranty). Now, there are two tiers. Photo & Video Graphic Designers but should I encourage them to use Precisions? What I don't want is to spend almost $3000 on a computer and have to replace it after 2-3 years.

TBH, I am surprised that their gaming GPU's are meeting their needs. Only Quadros support 10-bit color in OpenGL, which is what Photoshop uses.
