Must Log into or Register for a Balance Rewards Membership to be able to clip coupons (free to join). If the coupon isn't visible on item page, find coupon on page 1 in the Weekly Ad and clip it digitally.
Moderator Note: I imagine this is highly YMMV and if you have a link / prtscn / zip code to share for $1 Tide, you could post it as a separate thread. Thanks.

Can't link it. But type-> Walmart 40oz tide detergent into google and it will be first page. Change zip codes if it's not $1

Buy it in store with the coupon. Create a Walgreens account with your phone number and add the coupon to your account.
You Do NOT want the ship to store option. It will be a big mess if you do that.
I think what he meant is to by- pass the ship to store option and continue checkout where towards the end it will have a pick up in store option. But you must be a member or sign up for one.
The difference is that with ship to store, they do not just grab one off the shelf and hold for you. They actually send it via FedEx to the store. Their shipping folks don't tape the caps like Target, and the detergent will leak out all over the box. Happened to me one time and a bunch of other people in the last few threads for Tide deals from Walgreens. The store can't help you with a return or exchange. You have to call an 800 number to get a refund, and you don't get to use the coupon again.
You don't have to check out to clip the coupon. Just click on the coupon from the product page and then clip it there. Then go into the store and buy it.
I cannot stress how annoying it is to not have store pick up for these deals from their own stores. Free shipping can't be a cost effective alternative to me picking it up at the one down the street from me. I'm in a fairly big city. Pick up should exist.

I wish you luck in finding a Tide 40oz for $1 at a Walmart. Let us know how it goes. Walmart YMMV deals are a tough task to begin with.
