We had a code being displayed during the Bassmaster Classic this weekend from Quantum. They are doing half off site wide with code 20CLASSIC50. I believe the code is good until April 1st.

Yea the shipping kind of kills it if you don't buy several things. I'm still debating on getting a smoke or two. I'm typically a shimano guy.
While searching to compare prices, I found this Mail-In Rebate for a Quantum 10 L Dry Bag on the BassPro website. It's not "free" unfortunately. Still have to pay $8 s/h. Looks like the items could be purchased anywhere:
1. Purchase any Quantum Accurist reel, rod or combo between February 1, 2020 and June 30, 2020 (NO EXCEPTIONS).
2. Complete and mail this entire form with all requested information completed. (UPS WILL NOT SHIP TO A P.O. BOX)
3. Include your original, dated store receipt (non-returnable) with the qualified item circled.
4. Include the UPC bar code from the Quantum reel packaging or rod grip UPC as proof of purchase.
5. Include a check or money order (US funds only) to cover shipping/handling in the amount of US $7.95 payable to Quantum Promotion. No cash will be accepted.
Thanks for posting... considering picking up a Fin-Nor reel for tuna.... can snag a $500 34-lb max drag reel for $250... that's not bad! Do you guys have any experience with these reels?
Well I pulled the trigger on two smoke S3s and a Nova for throwing big baits. I'm currently using an any c3 for my a-rigs and bigger swimbaits. I suppose if I don't like them I can resell them and make my money back or trade for some shimanos.
Can anyone recommend a cheap rod that is half way decent? I got a baitcaster real for Christmas but I need to pick out a rod and am clueless. It's solely for largemouth and the 2 main setups I'll be using is a buzz bait at sunset or spinner during the late afternoon. Majority of largemouth I seem to catch are between 1-4 lbs.
Also braid or no braid. I typically use fireline (smoke) on my spinning reals but I'm not sure whats best for a beginner baitcaster user. I want to avoid birds nests for sure.

You'll want a medium heavy rod with a fast or xfast action. I tend to avoid braid on buzz and spinner baits. It tends to wrap around guides when cast because it's limp and rips them smooth off. I would use a cheap heavy mono or fluoocarbon. If you're a beginner with baitcasters sticking to braid may be good until you get the hang of it. Braid is way easier to pick birds nests out with.

Yea I think certain items are still worth picking up if you were looking for a best price. Just depends on what it is.
