I bought this when it was on sale sell time for $28.99. I use it upstairs in conjunction w/ my nest thermostat and IFTTT. When the nest approaches a specific temp all my plugs get turned on that are attached to box fans. It saves a lot of money in the summer instead of having the a/c run 18 hours a day during 105-degree weather.
Heaters for example
Keep in mind, these are only 12 amps. You shouldn't use major appliances with these which usually require 15 amps.

Well I was going to grab some for an upcoming vacation, and that isn't happening now...soooo.

Either way I have been stuck between these and the wemo. Anyone want to weigh in on preference.

I was leaning towards wemo for homkeit compatibility. Not that I have other smart things right now so I don't know if it matters.

Espresso machines draw 12 amps easy.

Kasa is a better product for my needs. I have both BTW.

Always use the Kasa App and not google when installing.

I bought 2 of these over Christmas; they work fine with Google Home. I used one on a switched outlet with a floor lamp. The one annoying thing for me was that the TP Link remembers the previous state when it's power cycled. If you turn the lamp off with the app, you can only turn it back on with the app. This is different from my Philips Hue bulbs where I can power cycle using the light switch to turn it back on. I looked through the Kasa app and couldn't find any settings to change the behavior. I also could hear distinct buzzing noise from the Kasa when my lamp was on.
