This is actually quite helpful for those who are forced to do online schooling and may not have regular internet at home. Kudos to t-mobile for doing something useful and helpful during this crisis instead of just sending out emails about how they are staying clean.

T-Mobile added that its network is operating at 100% reliability.

AT&T, Verizon and Comcast are also waiving late fees and providing unlimited data. Those carriers, plus T-Mobile and Sprint, all signed the FCC's pledge to not terminate residential or small business services for those who can't pay bills during the coronavirus pandemic; waiving late fees; and opening their Wi-Fi hotspots to all Americans for the next 60 days.

What I find interesting is that some plans charge based on usage, but due to a virus, somehow their networks can all of a sudden sustain unlimited data for everyone?

Wait, don't we already have unlimited data on t-mobile? I have the old grandfathered $30 a month unlimited data/text plan. They simply throttle the speed once you reach 5GBs.

I would have preferred more minutes to be honest. But beggars can't be choosers as they say, right?
I'm pretty sure one of the Uncarrier moves early on was eliminating overage charges. So in essence, all T-Mo postpaid plans should have unlimited calls and texts (grandfather plans included). Reach out and double check with them on this.

As you mention, they throttle after your limit is reached. My understanding with this special allowance they're announcing is that there will be no throttling.
