Redpocket shutting off personal MMS in time of crisis - buyer beware

I've been on and off RP a couple times. This is my second time with them for a year plan. I am on a GSMA /ATT network wit them . I have a couple group MMS going with 5-10 people on each and receive a lot (100?) messages a day as a result of the ongoing COVID19 Crisis. Not exaggerating. I'm not running a news outlet or blog.

Last night I stopped receiving or sending MMS, after multiple hours of troubleshooting last night and this morning i got their CS team on chat. They reset my account and resolved the issue, when i asked what the problem was they said i exceed "fair and reasonable" text usage and that they can reset it and resolve it. Their CS hours are 5-9 PST. I am completely dumbfounded how they can just shut off my messages in this time of crisis. we have other no contract providers like MINT currently lifting data restraints and providing unlimited data and on the other hand I have RP shutting down a basic and critical form of communicating.

Buyer beware. you get what you pay for. If it were me doing this over again , id go with that $30 3 month intro Mint offer then pay the normal rate going forward so long as it means they're not going to shut off my MMS because i had a spike in activity.

Mad rant over.

I'm quite certain Visible is doing the same thing. I've not gotten normal group MMS in almost two weeks. Messages come in hours later or not at all.

I've used Red Pocket for a number of years and am very satisfied with their plans and prices.
If you don't need to activate service within the next 90 days, RP usually has very good sale prices in the vicinity of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Note that while some plans are available for all 4 major networks, some are only for AT&T and Sprint. Others may have less cellular data on Verizon.

After 5g or 15g use of 4G LTE, you get unlimited slow data.

The 5GB is currently $210. It goes down to $195 every 3-4 months. I have seen it as low as $185. If you don't need it now, you may want to wait.

As for the RedPocket, we have been using the ATT version for a couple of years. Every now and then, we experienced data throttling even though we are 2GB into 5GB in that month. It typically goes away by itself the next day. Generally happy with the service and recommended it our friends.

A service plan must be activated within ninety (90) calendar days of the order date.

Under the sim options where you choose att, Verizon etc, I think there an option for refill. Then you just get an activation code and no new sim sent.

You may want to add that this is a year of service paid at once.

You must activate within 90 days.
NO, it will not override the current plan u have with them, it extends the service by 360 days so you dont lose anything. (My case was i have plan of 5gb, and i buy the same plan for renewal. Had to enter the activation code 1 month before existing plan expire and thought i would lose that 1month. I didn't.)

I love this service- nice speed and never had any problems! I miss this carrier; got cheap and did Speedtalk and paying the price for idiotic service and throttled speeds. To me, this seems like the best no frills no credit no nonsense service!

After RedPocket bought Unreal Mobile, and Unreal Mobile scammed $120 out of me, I just want to stay away from this deal although I had good experience with Red Pocket a long time ago.
