Just bought a new XPS 15. Alienware M15 is huge and heavy and when working hard going to be hotter and nosier than the XPS. Other than both made by Dell they should not even be compared. If you get the XPS 15 with the FHD screen the battery life will put the M15 to shame. Plugged in sure the M15 will benchmark better in games. I desktop plugged in would be cheaper and faster than the M15.

If smaller screen size does not bother you, xps 13 should be much better than xps 15 since i7 10th U or G processors are benchmarked faster than 9th H processors. With TB port, you can always use eGPU do gaming. So I don't see anybody need xps 15 now.

The next bigger screen we should see is xps 17.

I have had a XPS 13 and a eGPU for two years. Believe me when I tell you that lugging a eGPU around gets tiresome. I like the larger screen of my new XPS 15 and the GTX 1650 and the big battery well worth only 1.5 lbs pound more of weight with just 1 laptop to carry. I leave my XPS 13 by my beside for late night and early morning convenient surfing. The rest of the day is now with my new XPS 15.

It has changed lot in the last two years. This is the first time i7 U/G processors runs faster than H processors, with much less battery consuming. With 40Gbps, TB3 has more than enought speed to satisfy any eGPU so far. Taking eGPU with you is tiresome, but most of time you don't need it.

Agree 100% - the new G CPU's are great (I'd go for G if possible because of the newer platform that supports faster ram, etc..). I feel like I need at least a 14" screen though - 13.3" is just a tiny bit too small for power use. I guess I can get a second monitor, but not sure if that's ideal either.

I do like 16:10 (have that on work monitors). No good prices/deals on the G 16:10 models though.
