Usually some combination of brackets made specifically for your vehicle and a trim piece that replaces the trim in your vehicle. Some are more complex than others but the most common vehicles like f150, camry, civic etc have trim adapters. Some less common vehicles don't. Crutchfield.com is an awesome resource for finding what you need for a specific vehicle
What's a CD???
The installation is FREE at Best Buy with this unit. I think that's pretty slick. I am trying to see how much extra would it be to still preserve the steering wheel controls with this unit. Best Buy doesn't seem to give an option to add that accessory for installation so may not be possible I guess or at least they may not do it as part of the free installation.

I wonder with today's car where every model is so different, how does one go about and install these units. Just curious.

I wonder how hard is to install this? Isn't single din stereo better than this? Seem like there lot of unused space that make the single din stereo better, no?

does say free install on webpage but wonder if they stopped installs in PHX?

Installation near 85383 - Update Location
Unfortunately, there are not any stores within 250 miles of you that offer this type of installation.

Would you like the required parts so you can do it yourself?

Metra - Dash Kit for Select 2008-2012 Toyota Highlander without factory NAV - Black

$49.99

Sold Out
Metra - Wiring Harness for Most 1987 and Later Toyota Scion Vehicles - Multicolored

$16.99

Yes you're correct. Free install. Who-hoo!

Ah highlander eh?! Mines 05.

Is dash kit required? My thought is the factory bracket should suffice on this unit no?
