Got it last time when it was $188, great watch for the price. Hardlex definitely is not as good as sapphire, but totally enough for daily wear. For this price you pretty much can't go wrong. Or for a few tens of dollars more get orient kamasu, which has Sapphire and 200m wr rating.l

I got this watch from February 13th deal for $188.80 and this watch is awesome. It is so accurate, perfectly lined up (hour markers, bezel, chapter ring, etc.) and it is a beauty. Lots of compliments. I swapped the bracelet with my Seiko SKX007 jubilee bracelet. Both bracelets look nice but I am a huge fan of the jubilee with its style and comfort. I just had to "fatten" up some generic spring bars with tape. Fits perfectly.

Don't worry about hardlex. It is very strong and also the bezel is also slightly raised a smidge above the hardlex so majority of the time when you smack flat objects, the bezel takes the hit and not the hardlex. Hardlex is made differently than ordinary mineral glass and stronger than mineral glass but not as hard as sapphire. I believe it is mineral=6-7, hardlex=8 and sapphire=9 with the hardness scale.

Just for comparison here is a video of an old hardlex and sapphire.
Knife= No damage for both.
Steel wool= No damage for both.
Sandpaper= Damage for hardlex and slight damage for sapphire.
Hammer= Destroyed them both.

Don't sandpaper or hammer your hardlex and sapphire face watches.... I have lots of watches with hardlex and sapphire. None of them are scratched or damaged and I have smacked them around a lot but I got scuffs on the bracelets. Take reasonable care with them and they will last very long time.

Been tracking the SKX and related watches for a while now. I definitely don't mind these new Seiko 5's but for the price I'm going with one of these:

I went with the green shark submariner from them. Nice specs on there watches for the price. Should get it tomorrow. FYI shipping takes for ever, been a month since I ordered but I'm sure the delay is due to the virus.

I picked up one of the 6105 turtle homages with the green dial as well. Initially wasn't a huge fan of the shark logo but it grew on me. Has a Seiko movement, Lume glows like a torch, keeps time as well as the seiko 5 I bought a few months ago at the kohl's sale. Pretty good deal for ~ $150 if you don't mind the fact that is not an authentic Seiko.

You'll have to keep tracking because these are constantly out of stock. However, it is a great option but just hard to source.
