Ratchets aren't quick release. The price is so tempting but you'll hate them.

I have this and if you want to spend more on stand alone socket sets you can do better. This set stands out because of the number of usable tools in one case. I like being able to grab one case with all the sockets, wrenches, hex key, etc, I need for small projects. Other sets with this many tools in the same price range seem to be considerably lower quality.

Quick release are fine but typically have a larger head profile which can be more difficult to use in tight areas. My go to ratchets are actually low profile tear drop design non-quick-release because of that fact. That doesn't mean that I don't have a bunch of quick release ratchets in my box, it just means they aren't the first ones I grab to use.

Don't know anything about this Dewalt set but it appears to be a pretty solid set of useable tools.

Low quality set. $70 should be its MSRP. This is not a deal at all.

Great quality tools! Will last a lifetime for the DIY'er! WTF are you wanting for $70? You must be a paid shill for Snap On. If these were Snap On or MAC you would get just a 1/4" ratchet (If your lucky)

I would jump on this but after looking at these for the past couple months. It doesn't have extensions or socket over 21 mm. I need a 22mm for my Toyota's. Good for common diy around the house.

Better deal if you're looking to work on your car and don't live in Cali (no shipping)

But the ratchets will work fine till you upgrade. If this set was sockets only it would be a great deal! I have Dewalt Wrenches, sockets and various other hand tools and they are top notch IMO. Most of my Craftsman is 20+ years old and made in USA. When Craftsman went to China manufacturing I stopped purchasing any more of their mechanics tools! Wrenches were thick, clunky and heavy.

Dewalt hand tools are currently made in Taiwan which for some reason seems to currently produce better tools than the Mainland China. My Dewalt sockets have knurling around the base to help grip when hands may be oily, thin walled and easy to see size markings. (Even better than my old USA Craftsman! The wrenches are thin and strong (thus far) I haven't had any issues with Dewalt hands tools as of yet.

Taiwan like the Japanese make things a lot better than China. It's in cultural to make things with better quality.

You sound more like a shill for DeWalt! Did I mention Snap On or MAC? Without a quick-release, this set does not even pretend to be a premium set. You search on Amazon, all the higher priced DeWalt sets have the feature. Noticed that I did not say DeWalt tools are low quality. Just this set.

Ratchets are an easy upgrade! Calling this a cheap set without being specific was an error on your part not mine. If someone is using this as a primary set of tools they will work fine until they upgrade the ratchets one day. The sockets are all 6 Point, thin walled and a pleasure to use. A buyer couldn't come close to getting the quality of this set from any brand at this price. Most sets that may resemble this still use 12 point sockets. Than it gives you (2) sets of wrenches, some extensions Allen sets, etc. It's a great little set...especially as a mobile set.

I think that deal is dead. But I agree, that is an excellent socket set by Dewalt. I own it and highly recommend it.

I agree in principle, but there have been other dewalt sets with the better ratchets that end up being a better deal vs. this set plus upgrading.

I do think this is a solid deal, there are just better options and it's easy to miss the limited ratchets in this set. They are absolutely the reason this set is so inexpensive.

Ordered a previous Dewalt set for $99 and a 3/8 Tekton complete set. Tekton ratchet felt a lot better in my hand than the Dewalt. Personal preference that probably wouldn't matter to most but if I'm buying the last set I'll probably need (DIY only) id rather spend the extra and get what feels better
