Holy smokes this is an extremely fancy rice cooker. How does one justify paying $400 for a device which is easily replaced by being attentive to a pot on the stove? At what point is your rice cooking game so serious you need this? "Be the first to Write A Review" indeed...
The same people who buy $100,000 Tesla to save on gas.

What Teslas are $100,000 besides their roadsters? You would have to be getting all the upgrades and stuff to get that expensive. You can buy Tesla Model S for $30,000+...

$85 actually, plus tax and fees. Options will bring you over $100k.
$35k model 3 are all basic, limited range. Most people add in options bring it close to $50k with tax and fees. My friend work at Tesla manufacturing I get all the scoops. Tesla battery not replaceable according to him.

However, back to the point of this post. It's not for everyone.

What a refreshing, reasonable and common sense reply.

Your comment should be taken to heart by many SD posters who are self-appointed price and usefulness vigilantes.

Cuckoo and another brand called Cuchen are actually the most popular ones in korea when it comes to rice cookers. the japanese brands (zojirushi, tiger, panasonic) are more mainstream while korean brands are less known in the US (since their main targets are koreans and korean disporas).

the price may be overboard for someone who seldomly eat rice, but for people who do everyday or often (and when rice is their bread and butter like in korea/japan), the cost is justified considering how much we spend on other kitchen gadgets (espresso machine, blenders, mixers, set of knives, pans, etc.)
