Every wifi doorbell system will have some lag. I actually think this one is one of the better dbs. I've owned this, ring pro, and now laview db1.
I was in my return period still and a deal for the db1 came up. The db1 is onvif compliant and has multiple faceplates.
*UPDATE* I didn't realize this is the newer version with the home base and replaceable battery. $160 still seems kinda steep. I know most battery powered cameras talk a lot about drainage in high traffic areas. The limitations of the battery would also be concern.

Second biggest reason is if your existing doorbell wiring was put on the totally wrong side of your door. Like mine.
