How is it working out for you? Saw some reviews on youtube about the lag and kind got turned off on it. Now if they offered the $50 off the new price I might bite.

I owned this and then returned it for laview db1. I got mine for slightly above $100, i definitely would not purchase at this price if I didn't have an immediate need for one.

Every wifi doorbell system will have some lag. I actually think this one is one of the better dbs. I've owned this, ring pro, and now laview db1.

I was in my return period still and a deal for the db1 came up. The db1 is onvif compliant and has multiple faceplates.

*UPDATE* I didn't realize this is the newer version with the home base and replaceable battery. $160 still seems kinda steep. I know most battery powered cameras talk a lot about drainage in high traffic areas. The limitations of the battery would also be concern.

Sorry I updated my comment. I didn't realize this was wireless. Still $160 seems pretty steep, even if it includes that home base thingy...

This can be wired too. The wiring is to trickle charge the battery though. (not direct wire power for 24/7 operation)

why would anyone pay $60 extra for this when they could use the wired?

Biggest reason is that the wired doorbell doesn't send any recordings to a Homebase, it's all on the device itself. If it gets stolen then your video is totally gone. With the wireless version, you still have your video of the event (assuming your Homebase wasn't also stolen).

Second biggest reason is if your existing doorbell wiring was put on the totally wrong side of your door. Like mine. Big Grin

Is this the one where you put the memory card inside the doorbell part, and people can steal it?

No, that's the wired version. This one stores everything on your Homebase.
