It will sound smooth in the highs and mids, with good clarity and some detail, but mids and highs cant get muddy. Tho i'd steer closer to the direction of chifi over westones midrange products. Muddy generally refers to bass frequencies. Since those ones are the ones that will bleed into the entire range. If your looking for fair bass but not like miuddied, you can get like a pair of Blon 03 for $35 or Shuoer Tapes for $130. Alternatively if you want something bassy but still balanced theres also the Moondrop Starfield for $110

Didn't catch this deal the last time it was out, How do these compare with the b50's as far as sound quality goes?

I am a basshead and need a pair of headphones with an amazing low end that doesn't muddy the highs and mids, Would this fit that category?

This is a review from the page
"I've had every Westone up to the W40 (W10, W20, and W30). I like the flat, reference sound and so I was always pleased enough with each. The W30 was a little more bass-heavy but compared to the flatness of the W20 it was a welcome bit of energy to my mostly-rock playlists. Then I got the W40 when it was on sale and... wow. It is a HUGE step up from the W30 in terms of overall quality. I don't consider myself an audiophile by any means but I enjoy music and appreciate quality and fidelity. The W40 is flatter than the W30, but the overall sound is richer and smoother..."

I have not used the W4 or W40, but I had the W3 which was very bassy. I remember when the W4 first game out that was the consensus as well, less bass but better quality. I honestly do not think this would satisfy a bass head.

Picked up a pair on the last sale and have really been enjoying them. They have a sound signature kind of like senn hd650s but with a little less midbass hump. Very pleasing and nice with a wide range of genres. Deep bass is there for sure but they are ba's and don't move air like a dynamic driver. If you need to feel impact, look elsewhere. I prefer these to my sony wh1000xm3 and onemore quads for EDC.

How would these be for listening to Pandora being that it's not a high quality stream?

These are not the ones for you. While I like the W40s, they do not have a lot of bass. The B50s they have are more bass-centric and may be to your liking.

I feel the W40s are much more balanced than the B50s. The B50s have so much more bass that it makes the mids and highs seem muddier. I still like them though.

Is the earphone comfortable? I have a pair of Westone (can't remember the model but I paid $300 for it on a good deal at that time) and it is too big and very uncomfortable for my ears. Used it once and it is somewhere in my closet now.

They are the most comfortable earphones I've experienced. They feel like they become part of your ears and noise isolation is very good. Your ears may vary.

I have a pair of the UM Pro 20's from Westone and I think they're pretty wonderful. I hate sibilance and these do a good job of covering that up. Lots of bass for BA drivers and they fit my ears like they were custom fit. This seems like a really good deal.
