This is the genuine Samsung charger (using USB C PD - PPS tech), and seems to be one of the only chargers that truly fast charges Samsung phones, such as the Galaxy 9 series and even the new Galaxy 10 phones. Most aftermarket chargers I've found from companies such as Anker and Aukey simply do not charge as fast as the OEM Samsungs with Samsung's embedded Secure Element and PPS (Programmable Power Supply) that apparently prevents third party chargers from fully fast charging a newer Samsung phone. If your aftermarket 30W or 60W charger does not have PPS, then it will NOT charger your Samsung phone at the fastest speed.

SE8A is the first power delivery controller with embedded Secure Element for added protection against unauthorized chargers. The new chips support up to 100W-charging and meets latest USB-PD 3.0 specifications.

Samsung Electronics, a world leader in advanced semiconductor technology, today announced two USB Type-C power delivery (PD) controllers, SE8A and MM101. With the new PD controllers, power chargers are able to communicate with the device to deliver the optimum amount of power for more efficient charging through authorized products.

Both chips are built with an embedded Flash (eFlash) that allows the flexibility of modifying its firmware to meet the most up-to-date specifications and are able to supply up to 100 watts (W, 20V / 5A). SE8A is the first PD controller in the industry to embed Secure Element, adding an extra layer of security to PD controllers.

Use the cable to sync and transfer files at blazing speeds with your Galaxy or any other compatible smartphone or laptop.

There's no way a Walmart Black Web charger is charging as fast as a new 25W OEM Samsung charger... esp for a Galaxy 10 that was designed for up to 45W. I've read, however, that the difference between a 25W and 45W charger (Samsung brand that is) is only minimal, with the 45W charging only a few percent faster than the 25W.

The above said, read the quote in the OP... I took it right from Samsung's website. I can tell you first hand that NONE of my aftermarket chargers charge my Galaxy Note 9 as fast as the OEM charger, and that's not even one of these newer 25W models. Apparently Samsung uses a proprietary "Secure Element" protection embedded in their PD supported chargers to identify third party chargers (like your Walmart charger) and cause it to slow charge vs the OEM Samsung charger.

For those of you considering the 45W version which is on sale for $35 now, here's a great review from Amazon that compares the two Samsung Fast Chargers:

Using a professional watt meter to track voltage, amperage, and wattage, we compared the 25W charger that comes with the Note 10+ to this 45W charger. At no time did the 45W charger actually provide 45W. It runs at 24W at 380 mA almost the entire time while the 25W ran at 27.5W at 350 mA almost the entire time. What this suggests is that this charger is slightly more efficient and will use a little less wall power to charge. It will also likely generate slightly less heat. HOWEVER, on either charger it only takes about 20 minutes to go from dead to 85% (which is when the phone drops down to 10W on both chargers) This nets a potential time savings of one to two minutes. Please do not waste your money on this charger. For the Not 10+ you should be spending around $10-$20.

We also tried plugging this into other non-note 10+ devices. None supported the higher amperage, lower wattage charging. Our assumption is that the note 10+ itself has software on-board allowing it to communicate with the charger.

In regards to build quality, the charging block is larger than stock and comes with a thicker cable. While this may or may not be necessary for function, it did likely cost more to manufacture.

The Samsung 25w charger is the charger that comes with the Note10+ and S20ultra and displays "Super Fast Charging" when connected and can charge my almost dead S20ultra in about an hour (5000mah battery).

The 45w charger Samsung offers displays "Super Fast Charging 2.0" when connected and takes about 50mins to fully charge my S20ultra.

The main difference is not how quickly it can charge to 100%, but how quickly it can give you 50-70% as all chargers will slow down towards the end of a charge, therefore making the 45w charger fairly quicker.

Is it worth $30 more? That's up for you to decide.

To everyone above.

Only s20, s20+ and note 10 can utilize the 25W on this charger. Samsung calls it "super fast charging."

Note 10+ and s20 ultra can use this 25w(which actually comes with the phone) or pay $50 for a 45W charger. Which can get you 50% in about 30mins 0-50%.

S10 and older devices utilizes fast charging which is quickcharge 2.0. 15-18W about for that type of charging.

For iPhone users, 8, X, XS, 11 can use PD chargers but for some reason, this doesn't give it 18W even when it has low state of charge and screen off.

I measured charging using a USB tester and saw the V=A and watts. iPhone users need a 18W or better AND a good cable like apple oem c to lightning or Anker power line or aukey. I haven't tried other cables to confirm.

I will say that I have a Chinese brand charger that can do 25W on my s20+. I tested it on my set up and got good numbers.

I actually started a Reddit post on this charging question two days ago. https://www.reddit.com/r/Galaxy_S...uper_fast/

(regarding the 45w charger vs the 25w charger) This is a super fast charger, but what most people fail to understand is, it's not intended to charge your phone from 0-100% faster. Fast charging burns up the battery. Especially the last 20% of the charging cycle. So to care for the battery life it switches to slower charging, which when compared to the 25w charger it doesn't make a difference. Where this charger shines is if you're a person on the go and you only get 15-30 minutes to give you a boost to make it the rest of the day. People think batteries are like cars and charging is like putting in gas. Well it's not, the variable rates are necessary to keep the battery from overheating.

Bro, it makes a huge difference. When it's Friday, and you just got off work and about to go hit the club with stone friends and their gonna be there in 30 minutes and your batteries at 5%, the 45 watt truly shines. Those precious 30 minutes with the 45 watt leave you with a 75% charge. With 25 watts, you'll be at only be at 45%.

That's literally the difference between coming home immediately after last call, or partying it up til 6 in the morning! No comparison!
