the way to make this a deal is to add it on to something else you are getting, as its a $7 flat rate shipping. still. this company sucks super bad. terrible cs, terrible return policy. so sick of direct tool deals being posted EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

I haven't had any trouble with DTO. I've done mabe 8-10 orders and they've all come out fine. I did have one product show up with a bad battery. We went back and forth with tech support, but eventually they just sent out a new battery.

i mean, im not making it up. and in discussing it around here, im not the only one who has been burned. went back and forth for a week and a half with them because they refused to pay for return shipping on a broken tool, AND wanted to charge me a restocking fee.

That sucks that you had a bad experience. I have had the opposite experience. I have bought probably 20 tools from them. Fast ship times, everything has shown up and is in excellent shape. I am not a heavy DIY'er, so Ryobi tools have that sweet spot of good price for very good quality.

You know, this might sound crazy, but you could also just ignore any thread that's talking about Ryobi. No one is forcing you to come to this thread. Just a thought.

im trying to warn others that my experience was not good. i didnt realize your experience was something others should know about and mine was not. this is a public forum and a place to share information about deals, vendors and products. i think i am doing exactly that. warning others that my experience with this vendor was not good. sorry if my experience doesnt match yours.

and what does this have to do with ryobi? im talking about the vendor, not the product. i have a deal alert set up for ryobi tools. is that ok with you?

see what i did there?

I don't understand all the thumbs down for someone who is trying to share a negative experience. (Unless the "thumbs-down" people work for Direct Tools)
In this time of rampant and uncontrolled fake reviews, I have been relying more on negative reviews than positive reviews.

Not every thumbs down is from a shill. For me, the thumbs down wasn't for the review, it was for the claim that there are too many DTO deals. I disagree and think it's more a case of sour grapes. I don't check the DTO site every day...I probably only go there when I come across a deal like this. So, I appreciate that someone took the time to put this post together and share the deal and I don't want the OP to be discouraged.

I have had nothing but positive experiences from DTO myself with multiple orders. The only negative experiences I've heard of recently were people upset because of slow shipping times around the holidays which is not the norm. They were backloaded with orders.

All factory blemished (new) and certified pre-owned tools have been delivered in great condition and in a timely manner. I have also been to their retail store that is somewhat near me and had no issues there either.

Like any company, there are going to be unhappy customers as you can't make everyone happy. I usually check DTO if I need a Ryobi tool that I don't have before going to Home Depot because the price is usually worth it.

If you have never shopped at DTO and you see a deal you like, I say give them a shot. Chances are you will have a good experience.

I have made two orders with them. The Ryobi lanyards, which were new in package.

The second order was for the "Blemished" hand vacuum for $14. That was brand new in the box, so I have no idea what they considered to be blemished on it.

I would have concerns ordering one of their refurbished deals, but that is just me. Others that have posted on here have had no issues with it.
