Costco MEMBER ONLY DEAL: Costco [costco.com] has Ember 14oz Temperature Control Mug, Black for $79.99 and Shipping Included.

For Costco members, they have Ember 14oz black mugs on sale for $79.99. Matches the lowest price I can find on Amazon through camelcamelcamel. Note: this is the first version of the 14oz mug, so there is a new version available with better battery life. Still, not a bad deal, especially for all those working from home these days. Thanks

I have debated buying this several times now but I have honestly never had my coffee sitting around long enough for it to get cold and me to really need this thing, same thing with their travel mug, my Zojirushi will keep my coffee lava hot for damn near a day and that cost like $30, why would I spend $180 on their travel mug? Ironically I have enough Starbucks points to pay for this mug but they won't let me stack them and use them, can only use $20 worth of stars at a time. Weird product, an expensive fix for a problem that doesn't really exist.

If you enjoy your coffee "lava hot", you don't need this Smilie

A little review here- I have had mine for a long time now.
1. It keeps your coffee hot for 1 hours max.
2. The only way to keep warm for more than an hour is to put it in the charger.
3. The only way to adjust the temp is on the app. If you lose connection to the mug, which happened quite often in my case, you can't use it. You cant even turn it on without the app.

They might have updated this mug. I haven't used mine in 6 months because of those limitations.
1. With Gen. 2, I get close to 90 minutes.
2. Yes, once the battery is depleted, you'll need to keep it on the charging coaster to have it maintain a constant temperature while it's charging.
3. If you lose connection with the app, you won't be able to change the temp, but the mug will turn on when you pick it up or pour liquid in it. The last used temp will be reached and maintained until you make connection and change it if it's desired.

This looks like its the 10-oz size whereas the costco deal is for the 14-oz mug

Or you could use a thermos bottle that does not even use any electricity and just refill your usual mug as needed. Especially working from home where you have a lot more options, that seems like a solution looking for a problem.

Everyone's use case is different. Working from home, I'm in back to back Zoom meetings (just like before), and I enjoy drinking a hot beverage during the meetings. Unless you drink 14oz within 10 minutes, your drink will get cold over time. If you do, then this is not a product for you. If you don't and want to enjoy your drink at the same temperature at the beginning and the end of the meeting, then this is an option.

coffee taste "degrades" over time. starbucks doesn't keep their coffee longer than 30 mins before brewing a new batch.

keeping it hot will degrade it faster. one trick to keep your coffee hot is to preheat the mug with hot water (or put it in the microwave).

Do you really need an hour+ to drink 12-16 oz cup of coffee?

Great idea. What I've been wanting for a longtime. But not at $80. Too much for me, but great idea. Cheaper to just make another pot of coffee.

This is too expensive. I'm going to design a replica and sell it for $10 less to spite this company.
