Was interested until I realized it is just for the roller, the cutter is sold separately.

$62 should be the cost of the roller plus cutter. This is not a deal.

Yeah honestly rolling pasta with a hand crank is not very hard at all. It's the cutting that's difficult and that's the attachment you'd want (with the roller too of course since you're using the kitchenaid anyway)

How finicky is the roller with the dough consistency?

I'd like one to make sheets of cooked green plantains to make plantain empanadas

Thanks! 😊

Thanks for sharing. I keep hoping to find a banger on the full package. Maybe around the holidays.

Yep, terrible price as a standalone. I'd love the automated rolling for sure...but when $30 gets me a roller and cutters, and when rolling pasta isnt exactly hard to do...the price is silly.

$70-80 for this and 3 cutters seems fair cause Kitchenaid usually has solid quality

This model is made in China now and is an absolutely cheap product. I got it from Amazon and within couple of days the plastic housing inside became stripped and there was no way of swapping it out. Luckily it was still within the return period.
I bought the older model which is made in Italy, and the built quality is evident.

Yes, same from Walmart. Haven't tried it yet though. But a way better deal.

It was Walmart. The deal already expired, but you can search for other options and there are quite a few with good reviews. In my opinion, it's very limited what you can do only with a roller if you want it for pasta (I wanted it also for empanadas), unless all you do is ravioli or things like that. In my experience, the cutter makes the shape consistent which translate to better texture after cooked, so that's something to consider as well.

Wow. Good to know.
I got mine 34 years ago and it's a tank (just used it again last week to make matzo). So the lesson is... Buy used!
