It's a small size microwave... I think it's fine. We have something similar at home and never have any issues.

Check the wattage on the one you have at home. This is about as low as it goes. Even for popcorn you want at least 900W or you'll end up with some burnt and some not even popped. This is simply too weak to make anything taste better.

You are right. The one at home is 900w... same size but more wattage.

I bought a .7 cu ft microwave to do the same thing. The popcorn bag is too big as it starts to fill up. The plate will spin but the bag will catch on the outside walls. One time, it caught in the metal plate in the side wall and the bag started to smoke. I recommend a bigger microwave. Also left me with a few half popped bags. Would not recommend.
